Ekantipur – Question to Prakash Saput – Are the audience getting disappointed in your songs? [Interview]

March 9, 2026 By Prakash Saput

In this feature, singer Prakash Saput discusses the release of his new Teej song ‘Nai Saysi Nai’, the second part of ‘Badla Bari Lai’ from four years ago. Admitting that the artistic aspect of his previous work felt weak, Saput says he plans to take a short break to explore new lyrics, stories, and creative ideas by visiting villages and drawing inspiration from everyday life.

He explains that modern Teej songs often reflect women’s struggles, and in this song, he addresses social issues such as sexual violence while highlighting women’s strength and empowerment. Saput emphasizes that his goal is to create authentic and meaningful art rather than follow trends or forced narratives. Despite stepping back briefly, he plans to return with fresh perspectives while continuing his contributions to Nepali folk music and cinema.
